Reflection:

In this activity, I had the opportunity to explore my vision of an ideal society and the concept of bridging the digital divide. I envisioned a world where connectivity is not merely a luxury but a fundamental right, fostering a connected and well-informed community where positive online interactions flourish. The mind map allowed me to articulate my aspirations for society, leveraging the internet as a tool for positive change. Understanding both the benefits and challenges of the internet, I became confident in our society's ability to leverage this technology for the greater good. This activity inspired me to envision a digitally-empowered society where the internet serves as a catalyst for positive transformation, promoting responsible digital citizenship, collaborative learning, and transparent governance. This comprehensive approach to bridging the digital gap and harnessing the internet's potential serves as a guiding blueprint for a more inclusive and interconnected future. It has now become my goal to contribute towards creating a community where information is shared responsibly, innovation is nurtured, and individuals are empowered to collectively shape a brighter future, underscoring the vast potential of a connected and informed world. Reflection: 

        During this activity, I found myself reflecting on personal experiences shared by either myself or a family member. It provided insights into the positive and negative impacts of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) on society. I gained a deeper understanding of how ICT has improved access to education, enhanced or compromised security measures, contributed to job unemployment, and affected personal interactions.

This activity prompted me to recognize the benefits of ICT, such as its role in enabling continued learning during the pandemic and saving time through online banking. However, it also highlighted the importance of caution and vigilance when using ICT, as every positive aspect is accompanied by potential drawbacks. For instance, while online learning offered convenience, it also limited personal interactions, and the prevalence of online scams underscored the need for heightened awareness.

By exploring the impacts of ICT in depth, this activity helped me appreciate the dual nature of its effects, both positive and negative. It emphasized the importance of being mindful and proactive in navigating the digital landscape, fostering a sense of caution and vigilance in utilizing ICT effectively and responsibly.

 Activity: Enhancement Activities: Problem Solving

Reflection:

This activity was particularly memorable for me, as it challenged us to think critically and put ourselves in the situation to solve the problem correctly. My groupmates and I were able to make the best of it and have fun while analyzing and answering the problem.

I do recall feeling a bit stressed as deadlines were catching up across our subjects. Nonetheless, we persevered and enjoyed the process of analyzing, understanding, and answering the problems.

Furthermore, through this activity, we now know what to do to avoid losing access to our data during free periods, and the precautions and procedures to take to prevent such unfavorable situations. We also gained a deeper understanding of what could happen if our sign-in credentials are incorrect and explored ways to avoid or fix such problems.

Overall, this activity was a memorable learning experience. It allowed me to analyze situations, think critically, and delve into effective problem-solving strategies. The hands-on nature of the activity made it engaging and impactful, leaving me with valuable skills and insights that I can apply in the future.

Activity: Video: ICT & You

Reflection:

This activity was a memorable experience for me, as I not only explored the campus to gather video materials but also had the opportunity to learn more about the school. Through this activity, I gained valuable insights and was motivated to delve deeper into the world of ICT. I discovered that ICT plays a significant role in connecting people with friends, family, and like-minded individuals, fostering a sense of belonging and community. Additionally, ICT provides access to a vast library of information on any topic, empowering individuals to learn new skills and expand their knowledge base.

Moreover, ICT enhances learning, improves research and writing, and promotes accessibility and flexibility by offering online courses and resources. This allows students to learn remotely and at their own pace. ICT tools can also assist students with disabilities by providing alternative learning methods and making educational materials more accessible. Overall, ICT empowers individuals within communities and transforms the learning experience for students by offering greater access to information, communication tools, and educational resources, ultimately fostering a more informed, connected, and engaged society.

Although I was not satisfied with my outcomes project in this activity, I was determined to improve with the other activities. Despite earning valuable insights and information, I was motivated to do better. As the saying goes, "there is no use crying over spilt milk," so I decided to use this as a motivation to excel in all my other activities.

    Activity: GAME ON: VMGO Scavenger Hunt - Unveiling the University's Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives

 

Reflection:

This activity was one of the first we encountered in this subject. Initially, I was not very interested, as we had already covered this topic during our first year. However, I soon realized that this activity was different. It provided valuable insights, reinforcing the importance of teamwork and communication, which aligns perfectly with the university's values and its Vision, Mission, and Goals (VMGO).

The activity helped me further understand the relevance of our courses to the program and how they contribute to the university's Vision and Mission. Furthermore, it allowed us to better familiarize ourselves with the university's VMGO and the departments that support this platform. It encouraged us to communicate, understand each other better, and delve deeper into the questions and answers, all while having an enjoyable experience.

This activity guided and enabled us to exercise the values necessary to gain the skills and knowledge required to become graduates capable of navigating the intergenerational highways. It was a valuable learning experience that improved our understanding and alignment with the university's core principles.
